Lawyer hiring market

I am not a media celebrity so it just must show the weakness of the lawyer hiring market because I keep getting interviewed in the Chicago legal media about the pros/cons about starting a solo practice.

The Chicago market is brutal.

I think it's because lots of kids went to law school in the weak economy of the early 2000s. Then when they graduate they don't want to stay in Toledo, DeKalb, or wherever the heck they went to school. They want to live a real lawyer's life...in the big city. Let's face it, the only way you can experience urban living between the two coasts is in Chicago.

Yep...I throw my resume around a bit and hardly a sniff. Solo practice, start-up entrepreneur is more fun anyways. I'd like to see more groups of young lawyers starting up together...not partners, Of Counsel. Virtual office and use hourly rental space for client meetings.
